Flushing

•Flushbefore

changing ﬂuids, before ﬂuid can dry

in the equipm

ent, at the end of the day, before

storing, and

before repairing equipment.

•Flushatthe

lowest pressure possible. Check

connectors

for leaks and tighten as necessary.

•Flushwitha

non-ﬂammable solvent that is

compatible

with the ﬂuid being dispensed and the

equipment

wetted parts.

To reduce the risk of ﬁre, explosion, or electric

shock, turn OFF (O) the ES On-Off switch before

ﬂushing the gun.

Follow the Fluid Voltage Discharge and Grounding

Procedure, page 25, before ﬂushing.

Only ﬂush, purge, or clean the gun with ﬂuids that

meet the following ﬂammability requirements:

• FM, FMc Approved:

Material does not sustain burning in accordance

with the Standard Test Method for Sustained

Burning of Liquid Mixtures, ASTM D4206.

• CE-EN 50059 Compliant:

Materials which cannot be ignited, in any mixture

with air, by an energy source of less than 500mJ.

NOTICE

Only use non-ﬂammable solvents when ﬂushing

or cleaning equipment.

1. Turn OFF (O) t

he ES On-Off switch. Wait 30

seconds for t

he voltage to bleed off.

2. Discharge the system voltage. See Fluid Voltage

Discharge and Grounding Procedure, page 25.

3. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure, page 26.

4. Removeandcleantheaircapandspraytip.

5. Change the ﬂuid source to non-ﬂammable

solvent.

6. Point the gun into a grounded metal pail. Flush

until clean solvent ﬂows from the gun.
